The ring is cast in a single piece. The wide upper arm sweeps around the pearl and holds it against the lower one, so the pearl is caught between the two lines instead of sitting on top of a setting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pearl is drilled, and a gold pin runs into the hole and is bonded with a dedicated pearl adhesive. Nothing crosses the surface of the pearl.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe finish carries the idea further. The broad faces of both arms are given a fine brushed texture that holds the light like sand, and the edge that runs along the top and lifts toward the pearl is left polished. Turn your hand and the ridge appears and disappears.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pearl is a white Keshi baroque, roughly 12 x 13 mm, grown without a nucleus, which is why its shape is soft and irregular rather than round. The ring measures about 17 mm across at its widest point.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis one has sold. I can make it again with another Keshi pearl from my own stock, chosen to suit the same curve. No two are alike, so yours will differ a little in shape and overtone.
