Three radiant-cut diamonds in a row. A white centre stone of 1.0 carat, and on either side a fancy yellow, VS1 clarity, 0.35 carats each. 1.71 carats in total.

Yellow diamonds are graded on a different scale from white ones. In a white stone, a trace of yellow lowers the grade. Past a certain saturation it stops being a flaw and becomes a colour in its own right, and the stone is graded as fancy. These two are that colour, strong enough to read as yellow across a room.

The centre stone is a rectangular radiant. The two yellows are square radiants. Same cut, different proportion, which is what keeps the three of them reading as one piece rather than as a stone with two others attached.

White gold was the only sensible choice. Yellow gold beside a yellow diamond dulls it, because the eye stops distinguishing between the stone and the setting. Against white metal the yellow has nothing to compete with.
