Daniela bought this ring for herself. She was not waiting for anyone to buy it for her, and I think that is worth saying out loud on a page full of engagement rings.

The band does not come around the finger in a circle. It moves, crosses over itself and comes back, the way a road does rather than the way a symbol does. That was the idea she responded to: not a closed loop standing for something permanent, but a line still going somewhere.

The diamond sits in the crossing, held where the two arms pass. One carat, round brilliant, D color, VS clarity, with a GIA certificate.

The price shown is for the ring with a D VS certified diamond of one carat, which is close to the top of what is available. The same ring with a stone a grade or two down, or with a lab grown diamond, comes in well under it and the difference is not something most people see on a hand.
