A very large Keshi baroque pearl, 24 x 30 mm, hanging from a small circle of gold set with diamonds. Nothing else. At this size, the pearl carries the piece on its own, and anything added above it would only compete.

Keshi pearls grow without a nucleus, which is why the surface folds and lifts instead of running smooth, and why the light inside them moves as you turn. A pearl of this size with this quality of fold is uncommon, and this one came from my own collection of pearls gathered over years.

Because a Keshi pearl has no regular crown, the cap that meets it is carved in wax directly against this pearl and follows its ridges, so it sits without a gap. That part could not be repeated on another stone.

The circle above it is set with white diamonds, 0.06 CT in total, and left open at the centre so light passes through rather than stopping at a solid disc.

The pendant measures 40 mm overall, on a 45 cm chain.

One in stock, in 14K yellow gold. The same pearl can be set in white or rose gold, or in 18K, to order. Other chain lengths are available on request.
