A fine gold chain that does not hang in a curve. Two straight lines meet at a sharp point at the base of the throat, and a single oval pearl hangs from that point. The V is built into the piece rather than pulled into shape by the weight of the pendant.

The centre element is carved in wax and cast in one piece, with the chain running into it from both sides at a fixed angle. That is what holds the shape. A pendant threaded onto an ordinary chain would slide, and the line would soften, which is exactly what this piece avoids.

The pearl is drilled, and a gold pin runs into the hole and is bonded with a dedicated pearl adhesive, so it hangs from the point with nothing gripping its surface.

The gold is finished in a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, so the point catches light differently from the lines that lead into it.

The pearl is a white freshwater oval, roughly 11 x 15 mm. The chain measures 45 cm, which sits at the collarbone on most people.

Not currently in stock. I make it to order with another oval pearl from my own stock. Made in 18K or 14K gold, in yellow, white, or rose. Other chain lengths are available on request, so tell me at checkout if you want it shorter or longer.
