Two earrings that are also four. The gold stud sits on the lobe on its own, and the stone hangs below it on a second element that lifts off. Wear the studs through the day and add the drops in the evening, without changing earrings.

Choose rose quartz or amethyst above. Both are cut as smooth pear-shaped cabochons, 20 x 14 mm, polished without facets so the light travels through the body of the stone instead of breaking on its surface. Neither pair can be repeated, because the cut and the polish belong to these specific stones.

The stones lift off by the same mechanism used across my interchangeable pieces. A gold wire runs up the back of the drop, following its outline so it stays out of sight, and closes into a loop that holds the stone under tension. Firm enough that it will not release on its own, and easy when you want it to.

Both the stud and the cap above the stone are carved in wax, worked as one continuous leaf shape so that when the drop is attached, the two elements read as a single line rather than two parts joined.

The gold carries a fine brushed texture across the whole outer surface. Studs measure 14 x 7 mm. Assembled, each earring measures 33 x 14 mm.

Both pairs are in stock, one of each, in 18K yellow gold.

The same studs take baroque pearls and other stones, so one pair can carry several drops. Tell me what you would like to add.
