A 9.5 mm white freshwater bouton pearl, held from underneath and from nowhere else. Nothing crosses it, nothing sits on top of it, and there are no prongs coming over the surface to break the curve. It reads as a pearl resting above the finger.

The frame wraps the pearl at its base and then falls away in a drop, and the two arms of the band run down from there without meeting. Here the gold is left without stones, so the light comes from the finish instead. The outside of the drop is brushed, soft and matte. The inside of the drop is polished, and the polish carries on into the part that runs beneath the pearl, so a bright line of gold catches under it as the hand moves.
