The cleaner wrasse is a small reef fish that keeps a station on the coral. Larger fish come to it and hold still while it works over them, picking them clean, sometimes swimming right into an open mouth and out again.

The ring does not draw the fish. It takes its outline, a narrow pear of a body, and turns it into a single hollow form, 8 by 9 mm, standing 5 mm above the finger, brushed so the surface stays soft and matte. A 0.02 carat diamond is bezel set off center on the face, a small point of light where you would not expect one.

The band starts at 3 mm at the base and narrows to about 2 mm where it meets the form, so the ring sits close to whatever you wear beside it. It is the smaller of two. The Cleaner Wrasse Ring, Large carries the same form at 11 by 12 mm.

One ring is finished and in the studio now, 14K yellow gold, 17.4 mm inner diameter, size 55 EU, US 7.25. Every other size and gold is made to order.
