A large white keshi pearl, about 16 by 12 mm, set into an open band so it seems to float between the two ends. Keshi pearls form without a bead at their center, which is why each one takes its own shape, and why no two Nikea rings are alike.

Where the gold meets the pearl, a small ring of gold sits over it like a collar, set in pave with 12 diamonds, 0.06 carat in total. It is the only place the ring sparkles, a line of light against the soft luster of the pearl. The band is 1.5 mm, smooth and polished, and at its widest point the ring is 13 mm across the finger.

One ring is finished and in the studio now, 14K yellow gold, 17.4 mm inner diameter, size 55 EU, US 7.25. The next one will be made with another keshi pearl from the ones we have at the time, so its shape will be its own. Every other size and gold is made to order.
