A starfish laid across the finger, its arms falling over the edges of the band. The whole surface is worked in raised gold granules, which is the texture that runs through this collection. It is what the skin of a starfish actually does under your thumb, and it is why the piece does not read as a flat symbol of one.

A single stone sits at the center where the arms meet, a blue sapphire, a ruby or a diamond, about a point. Enough to catch and no more.

The band is 2.6 mm at the base and tapers to 2 mm at the top, so it holds its weight underneath and stays light where the starfish sits.

Two rings are finished and in the studio now, both 14K yellow gold, 18 mm inner diameter, size 58 EU, US 8. One set with a sapphire and one with a ruby. Every other size, gold and stone is made to order.

It is made as a set with the Starfish Stud Earrings and the Starfish Pendant, with or without a pearl.

Part of Deep Blue, a collection built from what the sea leaves behind. Solid gold, textured rather than polished, hollow where the shell would be hollow, made by hand in our Jerusalem studio.
