Two tourmalines that were never meant to match. At the center, a triangular orange tourmaline of 1.01 carat, and beside it a green tourmaline of 0.36 carat, cut as an emerald. One warm and pointed, one cool and straight edged, set close enough that each one changes how you see the other.

Two stones side by side, one for each of you, is one of the oldest ways to make an engagement ring, and the Tauri ring can be made for exactly that, with the pair of colors chosen together.

The name comes from the sky. Alpha Tauri, better known as Aldebaran, is the brightest star in the constellation of the Bull, an orange giant, and the orange of the center stone is the color it burns. The gold around the stones is matte on the outside and polished on the inside, so the color stays on the stones and the gold stays quiet. At its widest point the ring is 14 mm across the finger.
