The band is not one width all the way around. It is at its widest at the top, about 3 mm, and narrows as it comes down until it closes almost to a line at the base. Worn on its own that reads as a plain ring that happens to sit well. Worn in threes it stops being plain, because the wide sections and the narrow ones fall in different places on the hand and the stack never lines up the same way twice.

That is the whole idea. Buy one and it is a ring. Buy three and they behave like something you arranged rather than something you bought.

The gold and rose here are plating over solid silver, which is what keeps a stack of three at a price that makes sense. Plating wears where the ring meets skin, and on a ring worn daily expect to replate every year or two. Plain silver needs nothing and simply darkens with time, which on a stack looks better than it sounds.
