The band twists as it goes around. Where most rings present the same face all the way, this one turns through itself, so the flat plane you see at the top has rotated to an edge by the time it reaches the underside.

Worn alone it reads as a plain band that catches light unevenly. Worn against a second one in a different finish, the two twists meet and part as they sit, and they stop looking like two rings. About 3 mm wide at the widest point.

The gold and rose here are plating over solid silver. Plating wears where the metal meets skin, and on a ring worn daily expect to replate every year or two. Plain silver needs nothing and simply darkens with time.
