Four of these exist. When the sapphires run out, the piece ends.

I cut and polish each sapphire myself, by hand, into the outline of the Land of Israel. It is slow work, and the stone decides how far you can go, so no two come out identical. I have four left, and this is the largest of them.

The gold follows the edge of the stone exactly, wrapping the coastline and the border without a gap. The back is not a plain plate. It is sawn out into a lattice of Stars of David, so light passes through the gold, enters the sapphire from behind, and comes back out the front. That is what gives the blue its depth. It is also the side only the wearer knows is there.

White gold is rhodium-plated over solid gold, which is what gives it the bright white finish. The plating wears with contact, but on a pendant it holds for years, far longer than a ring. Yellow and rose gold need nothing.
