Made to order. This exact piece was made once, for one person.

A client came to me with a ring his grandfather had left him. The gold was worn and the setting no longer suited anyone in the family, but the sapphire at its center had been in their hands for two generations. He did not want it sitting in a drawer.

I took the stone out and built this around it. Two interwoven shields form the Star of David, layered so the piece reads as three-dimensional rather than flat. The 3.98 carat star sapphire sits at the center in an oval cabochon, and six diamonds of 0.03 ct each mark the six points, 0.30 ct in total.

He asked for an engraving in Rashi script, the Hebrew hand used by scribes for centuries: "Return to the land of your ancestors and your homeland, and I will be with you." It is cut into the metal, not printed, and it will still be there in another two generations.

The stone in the photographs belongs to him. What I can make for you is the setting, built around your own stone or one we choose together. The price shown reflects this piece as it was made.
