Product Details

This is where it started. In 2016 Vered was walking a beach in New Zealand and began picking up pebbles, the way you do without thinking about it, until her hands were full of them. She brought them back with her and laid them out on my bench. We measured them, turned them over, and chose one green pebble out of all of them.

She asked for a ring, and she asked for one small point of light on the stone. A pebble is not a gemstone. You cannot hold it in claws without hiding it, and you cannot heat it. So I drilled into the stone itself with a diamond burr, set a small gold cup into the hole, and bezel set the diamond inside the cup. The diamond sits in the pebble, not on top of it. From underneath, a second hole takes a gold pin, fixed with a special adhesive, and that pin is what carries the stone on the band.

The band is 14K yellow gold, plain and narrow, so nothing competes with the stone. The work took about two weeks.

When it was finished, Vered asked me to pick out two matching pebbles from the same handful, for earrings. That became the New Zealand Pebble Earrings, and the way they were built has stayed with me ever since.

This piece was made for Vered and is not for sale. If you have brought something home from a place that matters to you, a stone, a shell, a piece of a beach, bring it to me and we will find out together what it can become.

Shipping

Every order leaves my Jerusalem studio by FedEx or DHL Express, insured and signed for, door to door. There are no exceptions to this.

How long a piece takes to leave the studio depends on what it is:

  • In stock: within 3 business days
  • Made to order: about two weeks
  • One of a Kind and commissions: agreed with you before work begins

Once a parcel is collected it usually goes on a flight the same day, and reaches most destinations within 1 to 3 days. Customs processing can add time, and that part is outside my control.

Duties and Taxes

Orders shipped outside Israel may be subject to local VAT and import duties. These are set by your own country and are your responsibility as the recipient, not mine. They are separate from the price you paid me and are not refundable.

Rates vary from country to country. If the amount matters to your decision, check with your local customs office before you order.

Commissions and Custom Design

Every commission begins with a design fee of $250 USD for each rendering. This pays for the time I spend developing a detailed 3D visualization of your piece, usually several days of work.

The fee covers up to three rounds of revisions on that rendering. Further revisions are $80 USD each, agreed with you in advance.

If you request more than one design direction, each rendering carries its own $250 fee, because each one is a separate piece of work.

When you go ahead with the order, the full amount you paid in design fees is credited against the price of the finished piece. You do not pay twice.

If you decide not to proceed after a rendering is complete, the fee is not refunded. The work has already been done.

The design itself, including every rendering and drawing I produce, remains my work and my property. It is sent to you so you can approve the piece, and it is not licensed for production by anyone else.

Particularly complex models may carry an additional design fee. I will tell you before starting, never after.

Returns, Refunds and Warranty

In short: ready-made pieces from the catalogue can be returned within 14 days, unworn and in their original packaging. Pieces made to order, One of a Kind pieces and commissions cannot, because each one was made for a specific person. Every piece I make is covered against defects in material and workmanship.

The full terms are set out in my return and refund policy, my shipping policy, and sections 5A to 5C of my terms of service. If something is wrong with your order, write to me before anything else. I would rather fix it than have you keep a piece you are unhappy with.
