Product Details
Solas is the Irish word for light. The name came after the piece was finished, from the way the polished edge runs along the curve and throws a moving line of light across the brushed face beside it. The pearl sits in the middle of that, catching what the gold reflects onto it.
A single pearl held inside a twist of gold that opens as it turns. The band rises from the back of the finger, widens into a flat blade at the top, and curls back on itself so the pearl sits in the space that opens between the two ends.
Nothing wraps the pearl. It is caught in the gap rather than mounted on a seat, which is what gives the ring its lightness despite the size of the top.
I carve the twist in wax and cast it in one piece, working the blade until it tapers correctly through the turn and the ring still sits flat on the hand. The pearl is drilled and pinned with a gold post bonded with a dedicated pearl adhesive, so nothing crosses its surface.
The wide face of the blade carries a fine brushed texture, and the edge along the curve is left highly polished.
The pearl is a white freshwater drop, 9 x 6 mm. The top of the ring measures 12 mm across from edge to edge, and the open back lets it sit close against other rings on the same finger.
Not currently in stock. I make it to order with another drop pearl from my own stock, in 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white, or rose.
Made by hand in my Jerusalem studio.

Shipping
Every order leaves my Jerusalem studio by FedEx or DHL Express, insured and signed for, door to door. There are no exceptions to this.
How long a piece takes to leave the studio depends on what it is:
- In stock: within 3 business days
- Made to order: about two weeks
- One of a Kind and commissions: agreed with you before work begins
Once a parcel is collected it usually goes on a flight the same day, and reaches most destinations within 1 to 3 days. Customs processing can add time, and that part is outside my control.
Duties and Taxes
Orders shipped outside Israel may be subject to local VAT and import duties. These are set by your own country and are your responsibility as the recipient, not mine. They are separate from the price you paid me and are not refundable.
Rates vary from country to country. If the amount matters to your decision, check with your local customs office before you order.
Commissions and Custom Design
Every commission begins with a design fee of $250 USD for each rendering. This pays for the time I spend developing a detailed 3D visualization of your piece, usually several days of work.
The fee covers up to three rounds of revisions on that rendering. Further revisions are $80 USD each, agreed with you in advance.
If you request more than one design direction, each rendering carries its own $250 fee, because each one is a separate piece of work.
When you go ahead with the order, the full amount you paid in design fees is credited against the price of the finished piece. You do not pay twice.
If you decide not to proceed after a rendering is complete, the fee is not refunded. The work has already been done.
The design itself, including every rendering and drawing I produce, remains my work and my property. It is sent to you so you can approve the piece, and it is not licensed for production by anyone else.
Particularly complex models may carry an additional design fee. I will tell you before starting, never after.
Returns
If something is wrong with your order, tell me. I would rather fix it than have you keep a piece you are unhappy with.
Returns are accepted on ready-made pieces from the catalogue within 14 days of delivery. The piece must be unworn, in its original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
Pieces made to order, One of a Kind pieces, commissions, limited editions, sale items, and gift cards cannot be returned. Each one was made for a specific person or exists only once.
Return shipping and any customs charges on the return are yours to cover, and shipping costs already paid are not refunded. Please use a tracked and insured service, and send me the tracking number. I cannot take responsibility for a return that does not arrive.
Refunds
Once your return arrives I will inspect it and email you either way. If it is approved, the refund goes back to your original payment method. How long it takes to appear depends on your card issuer or bank.
If a refund has not reached you after a reasonable time, check with your card company and your bank first, since both add processing time at their end. If it still has not arrived, write to me.
Warranty
Every piece I make is covered against defects in material and workmanship under normal wear. If something fails because of how it was made, I will repair or replace it at no charge.
This does not cover ordinary wear, accidental damage, loss, or any work done on the piece by someone else. Once another jeweller has opened or altered a piece, I can no longer stand behind it.
Gifts
If a piece was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, an approved return is credited to you rather than refunded to the buyer. If it was not marked as a gift, the refund goes back to whoever paid.
